Te Pou Tuatahi o Tamaki Makaurau, Housing First Auckland is a collaborative programme delivered in partnership by Auckland City Mission and Lifewise. Housing First follows an established model that provides rapid access to housing and wrap around supports to people experiencing chronic homelessness in Auckland city centre.
Keyworker - Housing First.
We are looking for a Keyworker to join our Housing First team. You will be working alongside other Auckland City Mission services such as Calder Medical Centre, Homeless Outreach, Elder Service and Social Detox and will also be involved in community activities. You will hold an individual case load, work one on one with clients and must have both initiative and exceptional interpersonal skills. A relevant background/qualification in social work or community support work is required, as is experience with case management roles in a similar environment.
You will show commitment to the values that underpin the Housing First Model - housing as a basic human right, individual choice, harm reduction, and recovery. The successful candidate will have a high level of relational skill and adaptability. You will also be instrumental in building a sense of community within the Mission and providing a safe and accessible service to a hard to reach population. Included in this role are associated administration and reporting tasks.
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
- Social Work Degree or similar at Bachelor level.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Exceptional ability to build rapport with service users.
- Evidence of inter-personal and communication (written and oral) skills.
- An understanding of how to work with vulnerable people and the systems they have to engage with.
- Excellent team building, collaboration and partnering skills, with aptitude for getting things done through both formal and informal channels.
